Another winner-of-sorts :)

... ME!  I was so excited to see that I won one of The Angel Company's demonstrator-only contests this month!  What does this mean?  Well, $100 in free rubbah, baby!  Woot woot :)  I could have also chosen from TAC's exclusive patterned papers, ribbon collections or hardware... but me wants the rubbah worst :)

I know... you non-stamping, non-crafty people are just shaking your head thinking "whoopity-do-dah", but those that ARE crafty have a big smile for me, I'm sure :)  AND I'm not the only winner... check out these wonderful ladies' work at TAC's website!  Mini-albums, scrapbook pages & cards aplenty!!

These photos are a bit washed-out so you can't see the sky very well... although it IS a REALLY light blue.  It's got a bit o'dotty action goin' on, but not a lot.  I also added Glossy Accents to the water, her sunglasses & the boat sail... so cute.  How can you NOT love that freakin' attitude?!  The contest was "Beachy Keen", so I named this little gem "Beachy Little Girl"... more bitchy than beachy :)

Doin' the happy dance :)  I was lucky enough to win one of TAC's demo-only contests this month!  Which means... $100 to spend on some rubber-paper-ribbon goodness.  Oh yeah, that's what I'm talkin' 'bout.  Free is so much better than paying... uhhhh... ahem... I'm talking papercrafting, people ;)

I thought I posted this already! oooops. I had taught how to create this card & scrapbook page at my July Hostess Club & class nights in July, and thought... what the heck, I'll send it in... and ta da! I was fortunate enough to win TAC's July 'Card to Crop' contest for demonstrators!! Yeay... more free stamps, paper, & ribbon... oh my :)

Stamps: Linear Sentiments, Running Stitches, Creative Inspiration

Paper: Neutrals cardstock Stack, White UltraSmooth

Ink: Moulin Rouge, New Canvas, & Noir Palettes

Other: White Scrapper's Floss, sanding block, pop dots & glue dots, Scor-Bug, foam tape

I stamped the stitches on the card, but switched it up and used the Scor-Bug on the page. I love the white core cardstock... it is perfect for sanding & distressing to really give a 'worn' look. I even sanded the edges of the photo... that is one of my BFF's son, Braden (total cutie!!).

I went a little button-happy on these, but if you could see the jar o' buttons I have, you would not be surprised :) I need to sort them into several smaller jars so it is easier to find certain colors... although it is fun to just root around in the big jar (just time consuming!).

I sketched a primative looking star for the background to the photo mat... very primative! The edges are inked very lightly... along with the other stars. And I don't know if I could live without my Scrapper's Floss & glue dots for buttons...

Rubber Baby Buggy Bumpers {say that three times REALLY fast}...

Just kidding! Hee hee... now it's stuck in your head for the rest of the day :) ... YOU'RE WELCOME!! I do what I can to bring a smile to your face, o-loyal-readers-o-mine! And tonight it is about a smile on my face...

YEAY! I won one of the monthly contests for TAC demos!! The catagory I chose was "Beautiful Bundle of Joy"... ok... so I started thinkin'... ummm... yes! Literally a 'bundle of joy'! So I went to work and sketched out a template for my blankie bundle {or is it bunting?}. Check out these awesome winners of the other contests!

I cut it from a 4-1/4" square card base (hinged at the top) and shaded it up with Fantastix & ink to create wrinkles in the blankie. I knew I wanted a flower & ribbon at the top, and I added the two in the corner to balance it out. I cut the petals half way down and inked the edges between to give depth.

So, now comes the baby! I punched the circle, and searched through my stamps high & low to figure out a face. Hello, Punctuation! At first I was going to glue some Scrapper's Floss on her head for the curl, but then I saw the question mark and knew it would work better! Her eyes & lashes are quote marks and her smile is a parenthesis... genius, me thinks :)

I added some shimmery rosey cheeks with chalk, popped a collar on, and then popped the whole baby head up on foam tape ... {"he's got a HUGE melon"... name that movie!}

The inside says "Congratulations".

I must say, that I had a mighty tasty time emptying that tin in order to alter it... Godiva chocolate is beyond decadent :)

The CDII was perfect for punching a hole in the top of the lid... just don't try to set an eyelet in there... it doesn't work & you'll torque the lid to where it doesn't want to close... TRUST ME. :) That's why I popped up a decorative circle for the ribbons to go up, around & through.

This tin is pretty tiny, and is perfect to hang on the Christmas Tree! Instead of making the little accordian abundance list, you could have family member write their own 'Abundance is...' on slips of paper every year on Christmas eve. Then later, when you're scrapbooking your Christmas photos, you can include these slips on your layout. How fun would this be every year?!

I am totally psyched [no, not psycho... well, not really]

Woo Hoo!!! Here it is!! Number 100. Ok, so not THAT big of a deal, but I seriously didn't think I would keep up even this well with the whole blogging thing. My first winning entry for The Angel Company monthly contest! This one was for the Symbol of the Season contest. I now get to pick out a bunch of free stamps ($75 worth)... how will I choose? I am so excited! I've entered several times with no reward, so this is a welcome change! I am definitely going to start entering more often! You just never know...

Now on to highlights from the 2008 Winter Round Up in Salina... Heather, Lori, JoAnn, and Avis put on a great event! Wendy, Judy and I had a great time! Great projects, met some wonderful Angels, didn't get enough sleep... it was all fun! I plan on teaching a few of the projects in my upcoming Hostess Club / Class nights, so be on the lookout! Here is the Prop Swap item that I made to trade:

It is an altered wooden heart w/ hanger. I used Pop Rockz paper & tags, green Bazzill cardstock, Palette inks, DoodleBug button, a safety pin and misc. ribbons. I think it turned out pretty well. Julie Griffith was the recipient at the Round Up... hope you enjoy it, Julie!
