Ugh...

My creative mojo has gone missing again.  I couldn't even find it for a class that I'm teaching tonight!  And even though it is against my better judgment, I'm going to share these not-so-hot cards with y'all today.

First up, my "Love ya' bots" (get it, love ya' lots) card... very cute play on words me thinks, but the card kinda sucks.  It was really late at night, and wasn't feelin' it.

Next up, a card that started out wonderful and ended up as a whoopsie.  I'm going to do it over again, and this time I'm gonna leave off the vertical hearts & the three dots on the right.  And I'm gonna make sure that the cute little owl is centered.

And believe it or not, the pinks really do match in person.  Once again, my sucky photo-taking skills show up.  But I'm moving on!

This last one, I actually like a little bit.  Next time I might not make as many heart balloons, but otherwise, it's pretty cute.

I paper-pieced the car & colored the rest with Prismacolor pencils & mineral oil blending.  I masked the heart balloons and drew in the streamers &  mini-heart exhaust.  And of course, Stickles glitter glue is my friend  :)

What do you think?

Creative mojo...

... where the hell are you?  I had the entire evening to do fun stuff and what happens?  Yep, you guessed it.  blah.  nada.  Just two cards... of the sucky variety.  So sucky in fact, that they will NOT make a pit stop on this blog... I'm just sayin' (finger poised over lips to avoid hurling incident)

{heavy sigh}

{heavier sigh}

Maybe tomorrow it will show up... until then, my loyal readers, please stay tuned!

Spurs and squatting...

... great title, right?!  Ha haaa!  No, I was NOT recently at a rodeo where all of the Johnny- on- the- spots were full, but thanks for asking :)

I LOVE this stamp set from TAC... especially the sentiment... which is totally weird since I don't DO anything country.  Seriously...

#1:  I don't like the music (Kid Rock & Uncle Kracker are as country- fried as I get).

#2:  We all know I don't go outside much (I swear I'm part vampire... you know... the part about really pale skin... not the blood- sucking part) since I go from burnt lobster red to albino white with no tanning in between.

#3:  Animal smells... especially farms... uh.... ewwww (yes, you may call me a princess).

#4:  I never understood the fascination with Wrangler jeans... I'm just sayin'.

#5:  Need I really go on?  Just keep fillin' in the blanks, people!  :)

Stamps:  Cowboy Boots
Paper:  White Ultra Smooth, kraft, & DCWV cardstocks
Ink:  Memento Tuxedo, Burnt Umber Palette
Other:  Copic markers, Prismacolor pencils & mineral oil, twine, We R Memory Keepers eyelet & grommet, foam tape

Hopefully my anti- country talk hasn't put you off... does the cute card make up for it?  :)

Holy Cow Challenge

Woo hoo... I FINALLY managed to participate in one of Barb's (StampItCrazy) challenges!  Barb, does my "slacker" title get lifted now?!  :)  She is also offering up a funny cow stamp to ANYONE THAT PARTICIPATES!  Just go HERE to her blog.

I'm not totally thrilled with this card... I should have added a darker paper under the scallop edge to ground the whole card.  See the cow hide print at the top?  Yeah, it's glitter... oh yes, yes it is.  I've got glitter every-freakin'-where here at the house!  I lucked out and had Pink Stickles which matched the glitter perfectly... otherwise those dots on the scallops would NOT be there :)

Stamps:  An 'Udder Birthday
Paper:  Lilly Anna SWIC, Lilly Anna & white UltraSmooth cardstocks
Ink:  Memento Tuxedo
Other:  Lilly Anna Ribbon, Copics, Essential Glue Pad, Pink Stickles, Crystal Lacquer (sunglasses), EK Success border punch, Melissa Frances glitter, and a Target thumbtack

This is the first time I've used this particular cow from that stamp set... she kinda freaks me out a little.  I just want to know:
how did she manage to stuff her big ol' udder into that teensie bikini bottom?

I'm just sayin' :)

My bad...

...no, I haven't done my challenge card for Macabre Monday yet.  I KNOW!  I am such a slacker... but, to make it up to you I will show you this little ditty.

Cute, no?  This was a submission to TAC for publication consideration, but they used my other one instead... yeay!  I'll show that one to you sometime as well.

Stamps:  Spookilicious

Paper:  Penelope, white Ultra Smooth &  black cardstocks

Ink:  Palette Noir

Other:  paper piercer, mineral oil w/ Prismacolors, Black Scrapper's Floss

Who says you have to use the whole image of a stamp, right?  Kinda looks like a window... or maybe it's like the opening credits of the Brady Bunch:

Here's the story of a wicked witchy,
Who was boiling up one very goofy skelly.
He was green and white, like no other,
The bow tie looks 'nelly'.

Here's the story, of a scared black kitty,
Who was busy with two jack-o's of his own.
They were orange, and kinda silly,
Yet they were all alone...

I know... it's horrible... but creative writing was NOT my forte!

Happy Owl-o-ween :)

Ok, so Jen is a total enabler. She sent me a link to a You-Tube video showing Martha's latest punches... as soon as I saw the web, I was hosed. So yesterday I went to THREE different Michaels stores in search... SCORE! And here's a bonus: I had 50% off coupons!!! Oh don't think I wouldn't have paid full price... I might have... I mean, I could only find one of the corner punches in stock anywhere! Yeah, I know... weird... plenty of the borders, but only one lonely corner punch... and it is all mine
{muhuwah ahh ahh ahh aaaaaaaaaahh}

Sooooooooo, guess I what I made last night... how's this for cuteness? I KNOW! Why else would I add the creepy little black spider confetti... had have just a teensie touch of that "uh, ewwww" ;)

I grabbed a chunk-o-cardstock out of my 'big scrap' scrap pile and started playing... I must say that I wish the two border webs were the same so that I could overlap them if needed when punching them out. I mean, I like the look of the subtle difference, but it kinda blows for when you need just one less web. But me still likey :)

I don't know if you can see it, but the two web corners and the mat are all one piece. I just had to get a little crafty with it since I did not have the correct size of cardstock with which to start. But if you go to the Aug. 3rd post on Chelsea's blog, she's done some measuring for us!!!

If I had this to do over, I would have switched out my sewing machine thread to black and stitched the swiss dot to the base i.l.o. staples... they are a little distracting. I also would have only done a couple of corners with the splatter stamp instead of all the borders. It's a little busy for me.

Stamps: Be Square, What a Hoot ("Owl"), Glitter Goblins ("oween"), So Splattered (retired), Holiday Cheer ("Happy")

Paper: White Ultrasmooth, basic black, & Lilly Anna cardstocks

Ink: Noir Palette

Other: Elizabeth Buttons & Blossoms, Black Scrapper's Floss, Prismacolors w/ mineral oil, Tombow gray marker, dotted swiss fabric, MM pink staples, MS web punches, misc. twill ribbon, spider confetti, Target thumbtack, black marker, foam tape

Good grief... I never think there is much on a card until I list the freakin' ingredients! And most of my "misc. ribbon" notes are because I have one on those huge Ribbon-eze thingies and I have no flippin' idea who made what :)

There it is... my creepy-cute pink Halloweenie card...

365 Cards: Day 150... Great Pear

This little card is for 365 Cards' Day 150: "Today's challenge is called an "Eye" for an "I" because I want you to substitute one word that sounds like another, but has a different meaning - and use it in your sentiment. I believe they call this a homophone." Homophone... huh... wha? Yeah, that's what I said {or is that "what eye said"?} :)

I'm totally slackin' on my challenges! I need an extra 6 hours in a day :)

This is another card I'm not sure about... I'm totally diggin' the pattern paper & the stamps, but I think I shoulda left those little bronze flower gems off. Anyway, here are the deets:

Stamps: Floral Fruits (new Hostess Level B set!)
Paper: Amelia SWIC & Cardstock, Premium white cardstock
Ink: Burnt Umber Palette
Other: Tombow markers, Scor-bug, MM gems

I'm kinda feelin' it, kinda not...

I didn't like how this first card turned out, but I loved the coloring on the pumpkin... so I'm just showing off the pumpkin :) The rest of the card shall never be seen again {evil winkie grin}.

This will go into the cards-that-may-never-be-sent pile, or perhaps the in-case-of-emergency-oops-I-forgot-another-freakin'-card pile.

This little punnkinn {as Mama used to say when I was little} is from Sunshiny Day. It was stamped with StazOn onto a very thick unbleached muslin & colored with Prismacolor pencils.

You can also catch a glimpse of Penelope designer paper and Ribbon.

That's it! And no begging for the rest of the card... I am not listening... laaa laaaa laaa laaa {hands over ears chanting in most childish manner} :)

Next up is one of my submissions for the catalogue designer call last summer... I used sketch #4 from page 11 of the current catalogue. I used the following stamps: Linear Sentiments, More Abundance, and All Occasion Circles. Papers: Rustic Chic designer paper, Bazzill Mono-Browns, and a chartreuse green cardstock from DCWV.

I tried to go outside my typical uber-structured look, and used skewed angles... AND no perfect strips or squares... scary, I know.

That's it for today kids. And for those of you who are in the Wichita, Kansas area and will be attending the Kansas Shrine Bowl game on Saturday... thank you for your support!!
