Honest Scrap blog award...

... from Bridgett! Isn't she a sweetie?! She is a fellow Angel and a truly genuine person. She gave me this award:Here is what she said about why she chose me:

BARB because she is an awesome Angel. She is helpful and caring and wonderful. She is uber talented and once you read her blog, you'll want to follow her!

Stop it! You are making me blush :)

There are a few requirements to accepting the Honest Scrap Award and they are as follows:

1) I must thank the person who gave me the award and list their blog and link.

So, thank you very much, Bridgett!! You truly are an Angel :)

2) I must list 10 honest things about myself.

OMG... ok.

#1 I feel horribly self-conscious because of my weight {hey... it says be honest!}

#2 I appear very outgoing and upbeat over the blogosphere and to my very close personal friends, but trust me... I'm really notsomuch :)

#3 I used to think that I wanted to be some uber-awesome career minded Architect, but I would be perfectly content being a housewife.

#4 I love babies & kids even though I can not have any of my own. However, I don't know that I would have enough patience for them, so I think there is a reason I'm destined to only be an aunt :) {but I REALLY love holding babies when they're asleep on their bellies laying on my chest so I can pat them... babies always smell so good :)}

#5 I wish I could really learn the whole TAC biz and have that be my full time job {if the aforementioned housewife option isn't possible :)}

#6 Even though I LOVE movies & TV, I would rather be in my stamp room (duh).

#7 I would love to design my own house and live just outside of town on about 5 or 10 acres... except for the whole creepy-crawly-flying-bug-thing and other Nature stuff :)

#8 I am known in a few circles as a witch :) A couple of my co-workers even pimped-out a broom for me, complete with padded seat, dust pan mud flap, and a nice gold beaded reign-system... and yes, they WERE bored that day at work :) But I'm not apologizing for being the way I am, especially in a male-dominated work field... if I say something needs to be done, it NEEDS to be done, no excuses and no down-talking because I'm a chick! :)

#9 I wish Halloween happened more than once a year.

#10 I have a few little OCD quirks, but not enough to seek help or medication :) Just ask my friends... although, THEY might think I need help or medication :)

3) Now I am supposed to pass this blog award to 5 other people, so here they are:

Laurie: I've become such great friends with her over the web-o-sphere! She is funny and talented and a really down-to-earth gal :) We think a lot alike (scary!) and I can't wait to see you next week! :)

Sarah: Another webbie Angel friend :) Super talented in a multitude of crafts other than just paper! Felting, sewing, on and on... this link is for her general crafting site, so be sure to click on her other Studio site, too! And I can't wait to see you next week, too :)

Anna: Is funny and sweet, and is aquiring the mad-skills on the Copics, about which I'm SO jealous :) She is the Challenge Blog queen!

Kim: Another Challenge Blog queen, and a true Angel in every sense of the word :) She always has an encouraging comment, and I bet she also always has a smile on her face :)

Michelle: Another sweetie... and one that doesn't live too far away! Always has wonderful things to say, and yet another talented Angel and friend :)

I have a couple of honorable mentions {insert evil winky smirk here}... Beverly, who hasn't been able to blog due to her house fire a few months ago, but WILL be back in the saddle (or computer chair) come Fall!!! :) -- And Cindy, who should really take this award, but hasn't updated in {cough} how long? Yeah, uh huh. She truly is a SCRAPBOOKER and photo junkie {mwah... luv ya'} :)

There really are a TON of people who need this award (you know who you are!!), so I say GRAB IT! :)

BLOG CANDY!

Did you think I forgot?! :) This papercrafting yumminess celebrates three things:

1. over 16,500 site hits
2. over 200 posts
3. my birthday is next Wednesday :)

What all is included? Fresh from CHA, we have glitter stickers, two different rub-ons (color!!), and a copy of the Jan./ Feb. Memory Makers magazine. Also, three small TAC stamp sets, a few 4" round blank coasters, several TAC stamped images, some Creative Cafe buttons, and a dozen charcoal-colored paper flowers (Bride's). Wait, there's more...
An acetate pocket mini album, Love Note card, and a 4-pack of Fall cards... all made by me :)

I'll leave this open until Thursday, March 19th at 3pm and will use an online random number generator to choose the winner.

How to enter: 1. comment on this post and share your favorite birthday memory. 2. If you are one of my Stalkers (Followers), or choose to start now, please enter another comment. 3. If you link up my blog on yours and announce my blog candy, enter another comment and leave your blog address!

Also, I have received a couple more blog awards {blush} :

The first is from Ana who became an Angel in February! The award is Best Blogger (and something else I can't read, lol, since it is tiny letters). Her blog is in Spanish, so my wonderful Angel friend, Diana, was kind enough to translate for me {mwah... big kiss}. In her message, she is thankful to receive the award, because it keeps her motivated to keep creating and posting. She wanted to share the award with those that inspire her... thanks so much, Ana! I included the English-translated link to Ana's blog... I hope it works!

I am inspired by so many people, it's not even fair to limit it! The easiest way (for me) will be to nominate all of the blogs I Follow... if I am listed as one of your Followers, please take this award!!

The second one is from Nancy at Inkcicles and is the Best Blog Comments Award. Thanks so much, Nancy... it's a pleasure to leave you comments (and not too hard to do!).
Please take this award and pass it on to your loyal commenters. Show them how much you appreciate their feedback. These are the ones who tell you if they find your post useful or not, who take you with them on their creative journies, who read each day and let you know that they did.
I have quite a few wonderful commenters... and I think you know who you are ;) Here are just a few:
I know I've probably missed some, but again, you know who you are, so please take this award! Thank you all so much!

Blog Awards... and a bunch of them!

TAC Angels really are the nicest group of people. Over the past week, I have been showered with so many blog awards, and it really warms my heart to know that so many talented ladies value my work... I am truly flattered :) So, here we go!

First up, from Cynthia (ScrapGirlz), is One Lovely Blog Award. Thank you so much, you are such a sweetie, and definitely deserve this award yourself!!

There are so many inpirational blogs out there, that it is tough to limit it to just seven!
Danni's Doodles
Melissa Phillips
Linda Albrecht
Julie Griffith
PaperCrafts by Rach
Debbie Olson
Inspirational

Next, from Bren (BcraftyToday) who just so happens to be my newest downline! The Lemonade Award is given by a previous winner to 5 bloggers who have shown great attitudes and/or gratitude this week. It's a great way to show these people that you appreciate them. All you have to do is:
1. Put the logo on your blog or post. 2. Nominate at least 5 blogs and be sure to link your nominees within your post. 3. Let them know that they have received this award by commenting on their blog. 4. Share the Love and link to this post and the person from whom you received your award.
I would like to pass this award along to the following people in appreciation of their Great Attitudes...

And Joani (JoanisCardsMadeByHand) awarded three in one fell swoop! The first is the Kreativ Award. The 'rules' are pretty much the same as the Lemonade Award above. So, here are 5 blogs I'm awarding:
Debra Hensley

The second one from Joani is the Lotus Inspiration Award. The originator of this award says: "No special rules for this one, feel free to pass it along to as many blogs as you wish! I would love it if you would post the picture and link to Gratefulness.org."
So, some more inspiring blogs:

And the final award from Joani is the Spreader of Love Award! How sweet is that?! Here are just a few more ladies that always have something sweet to say and are genuine:
There are so many more to list! I'll leave it as is for now :) Be sure to stop in and show these ladies some love ;)

Peace, man... and a blog award...

I took on my own Random Stamp Challenge! I had created this peace medallion & file tab last Christmas (yes, that is Christmas 2007), and threw them in my 'maybe I'll use this sometime' pile. And I DID!

I really liked how the snowflakes were on the circle around the peace image... I wish I would have used some Stickles on them before I mailed this card off!! Dang it.

Stamps: Holiday Magic, Circle Sampler, Tag Tidbits
Paper: Bazzill Mono-Violets & Mono-Blue Greens, White UltraSmooth
Inks: Violette & Water Lily Green Palettes
Other: McGill File Tab punch, Marvy's Giga Scallop & Super Jumbo Circle punches

The front of the card base is cut short so I could attach the tab, and the bottom teal piece of cardstock is actually on the inside base of the card. This was a VERY quick card (duh, Barb... since half of it was already done before I started), and I really like how it turned out.
What do you think?

A fellow Angel, Maria, was a sweetie and gave me a blog award! She also happened to be my Paper Wings Secret Sister this year!! Thank you so much, Maria!! Here is the little award excerpt:
This blog invests and believes in the PROXIMITY - nearness in space, time and relationships! These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in prizes or self-aggrandizement [although, I did give myself 'props' in my last post!!]. Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these writers! Deliver this award to eight bloggers who must choose eight more and include this cleverly-written text into the body of their award.
I hereby send these off to all of the wonderful ladies that have participated in my Random Mail Stamp Challenge:

Blog Award! [insert beauty queen wave & shocked face here] :)

I have been blessed enough to be nominated by two AWESOME Angels for an award! Beverly (charlie's ink angel) and Melisa (Paperlicious Designs) are two very talented and sweet ladies, so be sure and pop by their blogs sometime! Thanks girls!! Here are the rules:

1. The winner may put the logo on their blog.
2. Put a link to the person who sent you the award.
3. Nominate 5 blogs and link to them.

Easy Peasy, right? Well, I'm going to nominate every single one of my STALKERS... because where would I be without you guys encouraging me to be a better blogger, better creator, and better person! Thanks, girls!!

a little blog award [insert beauty queen wave here]

My friend & fellow Angel, Bridgett, has given me a Kreativ Blogger Award! How sweet is she?! She always has something nice to say, and her blog is full of creativity, so go check it out! Thanks, Bridgett!

Here are the rules for this blog award: list 6 things you value, 6 things you don't, and 6 receivers. So, here we go:

SIX THINGS I VALUE

1. Family... yep, I know, it's a given! I love my family, as quirky and messed up as some members are, but that is what makes life interesting, right?
2. Friendship... this is another gimme, but it's true, yeah? My friends, even as crazy as some may be (you know who you are!), are a big part of me and I think they make me a better person.
3. Independence... this is two fold. One, is regarding the country we live in... freedom to do almost anything you could dream. And Two, deals with my own personality & relationships... an independence of spirit, so-to-speak. Example: Poot and I have a very loving marriage, but we are both independent thinkers and do-ers... we don't have to be attached at the hip, we don't have to like exactly the same things, and we respect eachother's opinions [ even if he is wrong! :) ].
4. Creativity... not just in art or 'craftiness'. But in everything... work, play, problem solving. I may be a lot of things, but I am NOT boring :)
5. Intelligence... in a broad sense of the term :). I'm using this as a blanket term... everything from technology & ingenuity, to common sense. I'm thankful I'm not a braniac, and I'm thankful I'm not an idiot :)
6. Mother Earth... no, I'm not granola or anything. It's just that we wouldn't be here without the Earth sustaining us... gotta give her props!

SIX THINGS I DO NOT VALUE

1. Cruelty... this has a large range. I'm talking everything from kids belittling and picking on other kids in school, to horrendous crimes against humans & animals. I just don't get it.
2. Not using common courtesy... please and thank you. Let's show a little R-E-S-P-E-C-T, people(you know you want to sing it... thank you Aretha!).
3. 'All about me' people... it's a big world people, and some need to realize that it doesn't revolve around them! :)
4. My dogs shedding... I love my two babies like you wouldn't believe, but I wish they could keep more hair on them than I collect on my pants. :)
5. Housework & laundry... yes, I'll stand by my old addage: I want to be a kept woman.
6. Real creepie-crawlies... I may LOVE Halloween and all of the fake spiders and what-not, but the real thing kinda grosses me out.

SIX PEEPS
[it's hard to just pick six!]

1. Julie (paperjewels)
2. Joan (paperlicious)
3. Kemi (kssdesigns)
4. Seleise (amethystcat)
5. Stacy (stacyspapercrafts)
6. Debra (minuetsmuse)

Blog Award! [insert beauty queen wave & shocked face here] :)

Angie over at Creative Inkspirations has given me a blog award! She said that I was "something else" and that checking my blog was "an adventure" due to my humor... :) How sweet is that?! Thanks, Angie!!

So now, I have to pick five blogs that inspire me! There are SO MANY talented people out there that I just couldn't narrow it down, so I am going to close my eyes and point to five of my favorite online bookmarks (is that bad?!).

[closing eyes and pointing...]

The first is Kim. I love her style... clean, layered, and detailed; plus, she also posts some awesome recipes that I would like to eventually try (you know, if I actually COOKED)!
Next, Sarah: Sarah is a 'Jill-of-all-trades'!! Her craftiness is not just bound to paper, and the linky is for her all-crafts blog... great stuff from paper to felting to quilting... fun stuff!
Joan is a total crack-up! Even if she didn't have all of her lovely creations on her blog, I would visit anyway just for a good dose of laughing out loud (her 'Dear Paperlicious' posts and dialogues with Mr. DP, alone are worth the trip!!).
Aija's work is simply amazing! She is from Finland and her blog posts are also in English. Her watercoloring is just fantastic... I can't even describe it! She has a very 'scrappy' style with a lot of embellishing.
Mel has the BEST tutorials! She also has awesome link lists to everything imaginable! Her work is awesome and she branches out to all kinds of papercrafting projects... really beautiful stuff.

Thanks for all of the inspiration, ladies! Thank you for making the world a prettier place!

1. THE WINNER CAN PUT THE LOGO ON THEIR BLOG.
