Happy Birthday to my WOSFF, Laurie Willison!

This is definitely a day to celebrate!  And we're doing it in style, with a birthday blog hop :)
Please click to make larger.
What is a WOSFF, you ask?  It stands for web-o-sphere friend forever, of course :)  In the short time that we've known each other, I have grown to love her as a TRUE friend.  She is THE sweetest person, with a big HEART, and one of the MOST genuine people I've ever met.  She's a bit of a country girl (yikes!) and one of the LEAST creepy people I know
(creepy in that Halloweenie-horror-movie-OMG-what-was-that kind of way)
Why do you talk to me, Laurie????  ;)
Please click to make larger.
Our papercrafting styles are very different.  Every time I try the clean-and-simple look, it just doesn't work... Laurie has it down to a "t"!!  CAS, yet detailed all at the same time... me so jealous   >:)

So even though I don't pull it off as well as you, I decided to give the CAS another try... just for you :)

There are several wonderfully talented ladies in this fun birthday romp... be sure to check them out:

I hope it is the best one yet :)

March of the Snowmen Blog Hop!

Here it is!  The Second Annual March of the Snowmen Blog Hop!
We had so much fun with it last year, we decided to do it all again :)  To jog your memory, HERE is the march from last year.

We've got some very talented & inspirational artists and crafters throughout this hop, so you won't want to miss a blog!  Not to mention that most of us will be giving away a bit of BLOG CANDY along the way!  Be sure to see the details about that at the bottom of this post :)

Now... onward march!

I've chosen to keep it nice and simple today... one little ol' card with one little ol' snowman :)  Don't you just LOVE him?  He's from Stampendous and he just makes me smile.
:)
See?

Not a lot of foof... just a bit of Copic coloring and some glittah baby :)  So as to not bore you with all of it here, just page down a bit for the card details.

And please check out what the rest of these wonderfully talented ladies have created:

And now... about the blog candy:

I just so happened to have just finished moving my studio from one room to another, so I found a PLETHORA of new, fabulous finds to give away!  So as to not ruin the surprise, I'm not posting a picture...

{insert slightly evil laugh here}

...just know that there will be stamps, inks, trinkets and more to be had!  All you have to do is leave a comment!  Becoming a Follower is always a plus, but not necessary... but how will you find out if you win?!  ;)

What do you think?!

Happy Birthday, Amy K!!

Amy, in honor of this day, I have created this lover-ly card :)  So pretend, for a moment, that you opened your mailbox and lovingly ripped open a big fat envelope from me, ok?  HAPPY BIRTHDAY!  I hope today is the best one yet!

Truth be told, my WOSFF (web-o-sphere friend forever) Laurie im'd me yesterday afternoon reminding me that it was Amy's birthday... after I kicked myself for forgetting, I said I'd love to hop along with the girls today :)
Disclaimer:  please excuse the poor picture quality...especially the colors!  You may want to click to enlarge, but it still might not help :)
By some strange coincidence, I managed to leave the dreaded office early & rushed around to create what you are seeing now... maybe I should work under pressure more often?  It looks WAY better in person... trust me.

Stamps:  Swooping Sentiments, Victorian Elements (The Angel Company)
Cardstock:  kraft (TAC), plum (Papertrey)
Other:  linen texture plate (Papertrey), ribbon (Hobby Lobby),
rose trim (JoAnn's), pearls (unknown), Scor-Tape

Amy has such a fabulous style to cardmaking... simple but detailed.  It's hard to do, but she makes it look easy :)  So, this card may be a little more foofy, but I was trying to channel you, Amy!

For some more birthday card inspiration, check out these ladies:

Happy Birthday Blog-Hopping!

Deck the Halls Blog Hop

To get all the information on how YOU can play along with this hop, just head over to Mischelle's blog!

Well, I ran out of time to do something fabulous for this hop, so I'm just sharing a couple of no-frills Copic Christmas cards that we made in my Hostess Club & Creative Class Night this week :)

First up, super simple and all in pink & green... a little snowangel :)

Other:  Crystal Stickles, misc. sheer ribbon, foam tape
Copic Markers:  0, B000, E55, E57, RV00, RV10, RV11, YG01, YG03, YR15, YR18

Next up, a Christmas Duck decked out in teal...
Photos aren't so hot... this looks waaaay better in person... trust me  >:)
What I was trying to show in class was different ways to color white... because white isn't really white.  The snowangel has a blue-white tone, however I wanted the duck to be a bit warmer but still look white.  Ta Da!  It worked, right?  :)

Other:  Amberly Grace ribbon, Scor-Bug, Signo white gel pen, misc. buttons
Copics:  0, BG0000, BG72, BG75, BG78, E53, YR0000, YR21, YR23, YR24

That's it for today, peeps.  Have fun hopping along!

March of the Snowmen Blog Hop!

Hello to all of you Frosty fans!  I know you've got that song playing in your head now... "thumpity thump thump, thumpity thump thump, look at Frosty go..."  And it will be playing there all day... haaa haaa {suckers :)}

Well, today I'm participating in the 1st Annual March of the Snowmen Blog Hop  :)  A bunch of us wanted to share our love for those blustery winter icons of the season... papercraft style!

You might also want to know that many of the participants are giving away Blog Candy!  I'm not telling you who or what, so you'll just have to visit everyone to find out ;)  I will tell you that I'll randomly select a name from all comments left on this post for a little mystery giveaway of my own!

Thanks to Melisa Waldorf for organizing this hop {mwah!}  There are a ton of talented ladies on this journey, so be sure to visit them and show them some love:

Angella Crockett
Barb Foster - this is me :)

Melisa Waldorf - our fearless leader :)
Michelle Bartnett

Pam Imholz
Stacy Rogers

I had planned to have a plethora of chilly goodies to show you today, but alas... time once again slipped away from me.  BUT, I did manage to finish this guy... doesn't he look like he's playing in the falling snow?!

I needed a large snowman image and I just didn't have one in my rubber stamp arsenal ;)  So, what's a girl to do?

Draw one by hand.

Oh yeah, baby...
...that's what I'm talkin'-bout :)

I blocked out my card front on a piece of copy paper and sketched my snowman in pencil.  Then I traced him onto white cardstock with a micron pen, using my light table.  The micron pen worked nicely, as it didn't smear when I used the mineral oil blending with my Prismacolors.  I will say that I messed up the scarf, but I'll fix it next time I draw another one ;)

Anyhoo... after coloring him (or her?) up, I cut him out and popped him up on dimensionals.  I added a ripped cardstock snowdrift and a love-erly shimmery bow.  Then... I went Stickle-happy (gee, ya' think?)!  Yep, using Icicle Stickles, I attacked the snowdrift, the snowman (even his hands!), AND the Bo Bunny background paper :)  Everything is better with Stickles!

Image:  hand drawn by moi :)
Paper:  Toodle Loo (pink), UltraSmooth & Premium white cardstocks and Bo Bunny dp
Colorant:  Micron ink pen, Prismacolors w/ mineral oil blending
Other:  Icicle Stickles, misc. sheer ribbon, Pop Dots

Oh... you want more snowmen?  How about these oldies but goodies from waaaaaaaaaay back... gift tags using the ol' Sizzix & some retired stamps from The Angel Company!

AND if you want to see more you can go HERE!

Thanks for joining me for a bit o' frosty goodness!  Be sure to hop over to the other March of the Snowmen participants for even more wonderful snowman creations!!

The New TAC Inspiration Book Mini-Blog Hop - Day 3

Oh no! It's the last day of our mini-hop... but it was oh-so-much fun! Not as fun as Seminar, but it was close :)

I saved my favorite card for last!! This Hit the Beach image is abso-freakin-lutely adorable! It makes me giggle every time I look at it...

{giggle}

... see?!

Hit the Sandy Beach Card

Stamps: Hit the Beach

Paper: Bazzill Mono-Yellows, Amberley Grace, Kraft, White UltraSmooth, & Lilly Anna cardstocks

Ink: Noir Palette

Other: seashells, misc. ribbon, Antique Linen & Frayed Burlap Distress Stickles, Turquoise & Waterfall Stickles, Copics, Cloud Scissors, Prismacolors & mineral oil, Crystal Lacquer

I used the Distress Stickles for the sand, and it also helped to secure the seashells to the bow :) Crystal Lacquer really adds oomph to the goggles & sunglasses... OH.. maybe I should add some to the pink innertube & surfboard! That would add a little more shine... oooooo... me likey :)

And don't forget to check out what
Laurie and Melisa
have to show you!! Fantastic stuff as always!!

The New TAC Inspiration Book Mini-Blog Hop - Day 2

Can you believe it is Day 2 already? I know! More having fun, more creating, and less sleep! :) It just doesn't get much better than this :) Oh, wait... maybe it DOES... because I have another new tidbit for you from the new 2009-2010 Inspiration Book & Catalogue from The Angel Company!!

Ink: Red Magic VM, Moonlight White Brilliance

Other: Scor-Pal, Giga Scallop Square Punch, White Scrapper's Floss, Mia's Cottage Ribbon, Elizabeth Blossoms & Buttons, foam tape, 1/16" hole punch, pearl-head pin

The ink really does match in real life... it is giving off a weird sheen in my not-so-professional photos :) It's also hard to see the score lines above & below the black strip... but trust me, they're there!!

I love how this turned out! I've been trying to figure out how Laurie can make all of the awesome clean & crisp-looking cards that she does. So this one is for you my WOSFF (web-o-sphere friend forever)!! Not that I love love you, but you know what I'm saying :)

Don't forget to check out what
Laurie and Melisa
have to show you!!

Home Decor Blog Hop - Cliffside Wave

Well, Saturday's little scrapfest did NOT deplete my scrap pile!! :) But everyone had so much fun... and that's what counts! We stayed up WAY too late; even my K9-kids are still pooped!

But oh-what fun! So much laughing and sharing techniques... and no worries about the laundry getting done or dusting the furniture or what the husbands are up to...

{kickin' back in the chair}

it just doesn't get much better. :)

On to the fun for the day! A few TAC Angels are having a Home Decor blog hop and I decided to show another one of my Art Share projects. This is a mixed media hardboard canvas painting that I sent to Melisa... Cliffside Wave... a little painting-with-paper project.

The photos posted here really do not do this justice. Please click on the photos for a larger view.

This piece is a very textured work.
.. I didn't even use a paintbrush until the very end when I applied the copper Glimmer Mist. Nope... I used a paint palette knife and my hands :) Nothin' like gettin' down-n-dirty with art! I had a blast working on this and definitely intend to create more!

Paper: Amberley Grace SWIC & Cardstock

Ink: Reflection Blue, Cote d'azure, Ballet Blue, & Water Lily Green Palette re-inkers

Other: pre-primed hardboard canvas, gesso (Liquitex), pewter metallic & white acrylic paint, structure gel & pumice (Galeria), Copper Glimmer Mist, palette knife
