A couple of quickies ;)

First off, the photos are horrible again... I wish Santa would bring me a light tent set up for Christmas!!

I needed an extra DOZEN Christmas cards in a flash for the Young Shriner's Christmas party tonight! So, here are two VERY QUICK AND EASY cards that take hardly any time at all!

I had purchased these red MM pre-made card bases about a year or two ago (yes, sick, I know). They already had a window punched in the front, and they included the white interior cardstock sheets as well.

I traced the window onto the white so I would know what would show through. I then stamped the snowman angel in the corner, so just part of him was peeking through the window. I stamped scrap piece and cut it out to use as a mask. I placed the mask over the angel and stamped the red square sentiment.




I stamped the front sentiment in VersaMark, and stamped the tree in Jardin Moss. I went over the angel wings, halo, star, and snowflake w/ a glitter pen. DONE!

Ink: VersaMark, Jardin Moss & L'Amore Red Palettes
Other: Stardust Clear Glitter Pen

I repeated this card in a smaller version. I reached for some pre-made, green tag-shaped card bases that I had in my stash. I punched a window off to the side w/ a Marvy Mega Square Punch and repeated all of the steps from above except for the VersaMark part.

Instead, I picked up my Swirlies set and used the corner image. LOVE it. I finished addressing the envelopes today and they are ready to hand out tonight or mail off to those who don't make it to the party [it is snowing a ton here today, and I'm thinking a bunch will be cancelling party plans!].

Not my absolute best work, but ok for a quickie.

Winter Holiday Stamp-a-Stack Info!!!

Ok, so I didn't get all of my stuff done that I needed to so that I could post something fun tonight :( But I DID get my project done for tomorrow's Halloween Angel Art Challenge! It turned out pretty cute, so check back tomorrow morning!!

I'm going to start posting my classes & events on my blog now, so if you are in my area and would like to attend, just email me for additional information! Depending on how it all goes over, I may start offering monthly project kits, too... please let me know if you would be interested. Here are a few details for my November class AND my 2nd Annual Winter Holiday Stamp-A-Stack (SAS):

November Creative Class Night:
November is going to be all about WINTER HOLIDAY CARDS and tags! Yep… once I can get past October 31st, I can start getting into the Winter Holiday mode!! Here are the details:

When: Tuesday, November 11th @ 7pm

Why: Because it is fun fun fun!
Cost: Class cost varies from $8-$10 depending on how much we’ll be doing.
What to bring: Please bring your own adhesive (tape & glue), pop dots or foam tape, scissors, and bone folder… I’ll have everything else cut and ready for you!

Please RSVP via e-mail by Tuesday, November 4th, so that I can prepare enough for everyone! Thanks!

Winter Stamp-A-Stack:
On November 22nd, I’ll open my house all day for you to come over and stamp a stack of Winter Holiday cards… I’ll have it set up similar to last year’s where there are three separate ‘stations’ and you can create at your own pace. We’ll be making four each of three different designs for a total of 12 cards for only $21… that’s only $1.75 per card! And if you’ve been to my classes or hostess clubs before, or visited my blog, you know that I do not skimp on the loveliness!!

These photos were from last year... I'll be taking photos of THIS year's Halloween on Friday... and yes, I DID take the day off!! The guys from the office know that this is my day, and there is NO WAY I work on Oct. 31... that's just how I roll. :)

Mini-halloweenie card

I am sooooooo ready for all of the Halloweenie stuff to REALLY start showing up in stores and on blogs. I've been wanting to create my own little cemetary in the front/side yard for several years, but I never seem to start on it soon enough. I've got some great patterns and 'recipes' for tombstones and the like, but I am SUCH a procrastinator! I need to just set aside a month of weekends (probably next year!!) and just GET IT ALL DONE.

Speaking of Halloween, here is a little 4x4 card with hardly any stamping [gasp!]. I cut into some more of my Black Magic (Hocus Pocus) Core d'nations cardstock and ran it through a couple of the new Cuttlebug embossing folders and got to sanding! This is actually too 'cute' of a Halloween card for me to do, normally, but I thought I'd share anyway!

"Well, THAT deserves a pop dot..."

I had such a wonderful time yesterday! I had a true Scrap Day where several ladies came over and dug into my scrap pile to create all kinds of wonderful things! Most were cards, but Shannon also altered a Frap bottle, made a sour-cream container favor, and a square-round basket/purse (I can't remember the exact name of it, sorry). Julie made a couple of cool interactive projects as well. I, of course, forgot to take photos during this flury of activity until there were only two of us left!! I've asked the gals to send me some photos so I can post them here to show you the great stuff they did with scraps! I will go ahead and show a few of Cindy's and mine, since I managed to get a few of THOSE photos! [Cindy also made a bunch of cute 4x4 cards that we didn't photograph either... jeebus]

Ok, the title comes from Cindy who, in

our late night giddiness, was putting the finishing touches on one of her

creations and exclaimed: "Well, THAT deserves a pop dot!" I don't know WHY it struck me so funny, but I just start giggling. THEN, we realized that I was working on the Pop Daddy card at the same time... and THEN, Prince's "Pop Life" song starts playing on the stereo!! We were rolling...

Stamp-a-Stack Saturday!!!

Woo Hoo! Finally a photo. This one is a bit on the boring side perhaps, but lately I've needed a little simplicity in my life! For this card, I used a Cuttlebug embossing folder in my Big Shot directly to the DCWV card base. Then I just ran the Violette Palette Ink pad over to catch the raised areas. I finished it off with a little Bazzill cardstock accent, raffia ribbon, and the sentiment is from TAC's SimplyChristmas set. This is another one of my Stamp-a-Stack cards that we will be doing tomorrow afternoon!! Nothing like finishing up late the night before! I've got to start planning a little better...

I know, I know...

Where the heck have I been? I was doing so well at keeping up and then BOOM! Nothing. Well, I have been busy getting my monthly class materials prepared, as well as everything needed for my Stamp-a-Stack on Saturday. I still have a ton of stuff to do for the holiday mart on December 1st, my 'regular' job, Shriners' activities, etc. Yikes. No wonder everyone gets stressed this time of year... look how busy everyone is! And I don't even have kids! I can't even imagine throwing that one in there, too... dang!

No fun photo today...I haven't scanned anything in awhile, but maybe this weekend.

Lookin' for the weekend....

It was crazy-busy at the office today, so I was glad I could come home and spend some quality time in my studio.

This is one of the cards in my upcoming Stamp-a-Stack on November 17th. Very simple to make, but quite lovely. I must be one of the last ones to get the now retired and no longer available VintageHoliday paper! Jealous? ;) DCWV cardstock and the HolidayMagic stamp set finishes it off nicely.
