Friday quickie post...

... so I can get it in gear & start loading all of that paper crafting product into the Xterra for the crop vendor gig in Spring Hill!  If you are in the area and want to pop in, go to Crop-N-Doodle-Do's website for directions.  I'll have current product as well as discontinuing, & already retired items!

I'll also have my coloring arsenal with me, so if you want a few live tips, come on by!  I usually leave all of my scrapping stuff at home... it's easier to just bring stuff to color so I don't end up overloading my vehicle with stuff I won't get to use!  I know, a crop is supposed to be time to get your pages done, but I'm just a rebel that way ;)

On to the fun stuff for today!  This almost-one-layer card showcases an upcoming stamp set that will be available in May & June only!!  I really like the monochromatic look.  And even though there is a bow & butterflies, it could almost pass for a guy card.  Maybe.  I don't know.

Stamps:  Found Joy (coming soon!)
Other:  EK Success edger punch, foam tape, misc. ribbon & pearls

I LOVE that edger punch.  I used it for the tag panel... turned out pretty good.  I edged everything in BU ink with a manicurist pad for a softer look.

Another blue frog Prince...

... I don't think I've ever colored this frog green... it's always been blue.  I just love him... he is so freakin' cute.

This is the other card that I had mentioned in my last post... about the over-stamped sentiment.  The one thing I wish I'd done, is masked his front foot so that it would be on top of the "y"... THAT would have been better.

Paper:  Tutti Frutti, white ultrasmooth & DCWV green cardstocks
Ink:  Memento Tuxedo & VersaFine Onyx
Other:  Stardust glitter pen, flower
Copics:  0, BG02, BG05, BG07, YG01, YG05, G85, YR04, YR18, B00

That's it for today!  I'm off to take a couple of pics of cards I made last night and then I've GOT to at least PRETEND to clean the house :)

Mr. Fix-it...

I know... I'm on a cute coloring kick lately...
... but I can't resist these images as of late!  This is another one from the Greatest Dad set... isn't he awesome?  I know!  The artist's style reminds me of The Jetsons' old-school cartoons, right?!  LOVE it.

I know my dad doesn't coordinate his hat, shirt & shoes when he's working around the house, but my Mr. Fix-it is all matchy-matchy.  I should have kept the label of the hat white, but oh well!

Ink:  Memento Tuxedo, VersaFine Onyx
Other:  Mimi eyelets
Copics:  0, E000, E02, E11, Y20, Y23, E53, E57, E59, BG02, B93, BV20, YR02, YR04, YR18, G12, G21, G85 (holy cow!)

I like how I over-stamped the sentiment into the main image just a bit... ties it in without have to mat it and all that.  I've got another card I did that overlapped the sentiment even more... be on the look out :)  This is the last week that you'll be able to get these two sets... come May and they are GONE!

Blog candy alert!

Over at Rach's blog!  Lookie at the cute stuff up for grabs:

Good luck!

Dude...

How's this cutie for today?  This image is from an older set from TAC, but it's still one of my faves.  He kinda  looks as if he strangling the little frog... is THAT why I like it?!  ;)

I wish you could see this in person... the coloring turned out really well compared to the photos.  And the sentiment is freakin' awesome (dude) :)  That's from one of this month's "dad" sets.  Love it.

I once again got a little edger punch happy... me likey!  The little tab and the outline parenthesis is from one of our mini album kits... just more leftovers!

Other:  EK Success edger punches, metal "nail heads"
Copics:  0, E000, E11, E71, R02, YR04, YR18, BG02, BG05, YG01, YG06

ETA:  Suzanne over at Other Lovelies has a challenge with punches!  You should check it out... me thinks I qualify ;)

Card Goulash... aka leftovers :)

Remember my final swap card from earlier this month?  Well, I had this lonesome little stamped panel left over without a base.  Soooooo, since I have been mojo-less as of late, I thought I'd try to create a
card goulash-of-sorts :)

The yellow cardstock strip was also from my previous swap card, the cute little Sprite was a leftover from my Copic coloring class I taught on Sunday (hair isn't great, but oh well), and the black mat was left from the sucky suck suck cards I made last night.  I had some fun with a little edger punch action on the card base (the yellow strip is inside), added the "make a wish" to the panel and popped up the Sprite on foam tape.

Stamps:  Spunky Sprite Girls, Great Greetings, Tiny Tidbits (Hostess Level A)
Other:  EK Success edger punch, foam tape, $1 ribbon from Michael's
Copics:  0, E000, E11, R02, YR23, YR24, E57, BV20, RV10, RV13

What do you think?
Pretty good for leftovers?  :)

Creative mojo...

... where the hell are you?  I had the entire evening to do fun stuff and what happens?  Yep, you guessed it.  blah.  nada.  Just two cards... of the sucky variety.  So sucky in fact, that they will NOT make a pit stop on this blog... I'm just sayin' (finger poised over lips to avoid hurling incident)

{heavy sigh}

{heavier sigh}

Maybe tomorrow it will show up... until then, my loyal readers, please stay tuned!

A fun new Perpetual Blog Hop...

Check this out... I found it over at Mel's, and the originator of this Hop is HERE at Clips-n-Cuts.  Vicky was celebrating her 100th blog post and started this fun ongoing blog hop of papercrafters.  So join in the fun... it super easy:

Goofy golf guy...

How fun is this?!  I'm really diggin' this month's special stamp set, Greatest Dad,  from TAC.  First the deer, then this golf ball... and you've GOT to see the dad with the ladder... too dang funny.  I haven't colored that one up yet, but I will be soon.

But back to this guy.  Super quick and easy to color up!  Look at the tee... doesn't it TOTALLY look like real wood?  Like totally... good grief... how 80's am I?  ANYWAY... what's great about the golf ball?  Well, it's mostly white :)  No fuss color options there, right?

Stamps:  Greatest Dad, Playful Pets (sentiment)
Other:  1/2" & 3/4" circle punches, misc. ribbon
Copics:  BV20, YR24, E53, E57, YG01, YG06, G21, G85, 0

I'm thinking Father's Day card... I know my K9 kids won't be making a card for Poot, so I need to do it :)  Poot IS a golfer-of-sorts...

Yes, I'm officially an old lady...

... Friday night and I vegged out and watched the movie Julie & Julia... or is it Julia & Julie?  At any rate, I liked it... very cute, and I really liked that it was based on two true stories.  Definite chick flick... Poot decided to watch some dude movie.  THAT'S when you know you've been married for a while AND you're getting older... you are both at home on a Friday night watching movies in totally different rooms :)

Sooooooooo back to some cuteness for the evening!  Isn't he JUST that?!  I know!  I love these little Spunky Sprite images.

Other:  Scor-Bug, Crystal Lacquer
Copics:  BV20, BV23, YR23, YR24, BG10, BG72, E000, E02, E11, 0

I LOVE the lacquer on random bubbles... turned out so cool IRL.  I am also in love with Awesome Blossoms... bold graphic flowers & polka dots... what could be better?!

Today I also got another card done!  Actually, I did four... I know... I'll wait for you to pull yourself up off the floor and sit back down...
...
...
...

I did another TAC card, AND two that will be over at my creepy blog.  I felt sooooo freakin' productive.  Is it because I didn't have to put on make up and that I got to wear jammies all day?
{insert perplexed pondering look here}
Back to tonight's card...

Miss me?

I know... but I had classes Tuesday & Wednesday nights and then I'm hopping over to Topeka tonight to teach another!  So, no time for creativity until (hopefully) tomorrow and Saturday.  Sunday, I'll be teaching a little Copic marker coloring... a little one-on-one with a fellow Angel... {waving} hi, Avis!

So, on to today's bit of fun.  And I do mean fun :)  This is the card that I didn't show before because it is a class project... well here it is now.  I must tell you that the sentiment is not not NOT a TAC sentiment :)  After seeing the look on the deer's face, it just screamed for something a little ornery... and it just popped into my head :)

Stamps:  Greatest Dad, computer generated sentiment

The deer is popped up on foam tape, and the green circles are coated with Lacquer to give it a little sumpin' sumpin'.  So far, everyone has really liked the card... I think the sentiment was the clincher!  Seriously... look at that face... I'm just sayin'.

Y'all know I don't do masculine cards very well... no foof... not much of anything, so...

Is it Friday yet?

Yep, it's true, I need a rest from my weekend :)  I spent the past couple of days with some fellow Angels at the annual Kansas Round Up gathering, and had a blast.  I always love going to Angel gatherings and seminars... so much fun and laughing, and staying up late (or early?).  Also true:  I was in the loud room this time ... sorry neighbors ;)
Even more true:  after seeing a few of my darker cards, some think I'm an even bigger freak than before.  I've tried to tell y'all that `:)

I had fun giving a little schpeel about Copics and demonstrating a couple of ways to use them.  Big step for someone not-so-compfy in public speaking :)  AND my buddy Beverly won the set of 36 Ciao's that they were giving away!  Woo hoo!

Round up was a great event put on by Heather Scott, Lori Betterley, & Avis Anderson... great job ladies!  Thanks for making it so fun :)

Today I wanted to share another method-to-the-madness process that I sometimes go through.  It's always so hard to figure out what to make for a good swap card.  You need something easily mass-producible and economical while still being good to showcase at FunShops and classes.  I will admit that the cards I create for large swaps do not have as many details and ribbon and foof as my usual ones do, but in order to get the quantity done (in this case, 60), you sometimes have to forgo the little nuances.

So, here is the first version... quite sucky, but I'm sharing it anyway:

No pop.  No... anything.

I liked the black base and the general proportions, so next I tried this:

Better.  Less sucky.  More color, same sassy sentiment & layout.

It just still needed... something.  So this is the end result:

It's amazing what another strip of cardstock & a tiny loop of ribbon added.  I also added a bit more color in the lower left corner, but kept the white space in the upper right.

Other:  Mimi Ribbon, Scor-bug

A little scrappin'...

My mother-in-law needed a scrapbook page done.  Her nieces were creating a scrapbook for their parents' 40th wedding anniversary!!  {wow... that's all I'm sayin'... wow}  Bev enlisted my help in this little endeavor, since papercrafting is "my thing"  :)  And this is what I came up with:

I think it came out very pretty, for NOT having any FREAKIN' PHOTOS on it.  That's correct, my friends, this is a 12x12 scrapbook page without photos.  Bev wrote a wonderful little letter of memories and I printed it out in a dark brown ink on white paper... I then distressed and inked it to age it a bit.

I layered some old pink cotton pillowcase strips amidst some crocheted trim and patterned paper.  I borrowed my buddy Vicki's edger punches and then sanded the edges.  All cardstock has been sponged to add a little dimension.  Oh, and that big ol' pink felt embellishment... yeah, it's another Michael's $1 bin coaster... me likey.

Stamps:  Fanciful Vintage, Tag Tidbits ("love"), Edge Designs (tag flourish)
Other:  EK Success edger punches, MM pearl flowers, felt coaster, Brown Scrapper's Floss, buttons, Loopy Brads, ivory safety pin, MM felt heart, misc. trims & fabric

I think this last photo looks like a fabulous card, which I may be duplicating soon once I get my hands on those edger punches again :)

Saturday evening quickie... blog post that is ;)

This weekend and all next week is going to be SLAMMED!  I'm not even going to list all the junk I have to get done.  That being said, it will be very slim pickin's from the ol' blog standpoint... my bad!  Please don't leave me ;(  I will make up for it eventually!

Here's the bit o' papercrafty fun for tonight!  I bought a new edger punch... me likey a lot... it's like a bracket edge.  I put a piece of scarlet cardstock on the inside to show it off a bit.

The chick's dress is a bit deceiving :)  I had a marker mishap... for some reason one of my Copics dropped a big o' droplet of ink after I was done... I was a bit, ummmm... upset ;)  So I just drew a few more layers of dress in there... can you tell?

Stamps:  Haute Couture (retired)
Paper:  Bazzill, scarlet & white Ultra Smooth cardstocks
Ink:  Palette Noir
Other:  Copic markers, red Stickles, EK Success edger punch, ribbon trim (HL)
