I had signed up to be part of a Paper Wings group to encourage eachother to create Christmas cards every month so that we aren't scrambling at the last minute (like I ALWAYS do). Well, I'm totalling sucking swamp water on my goal of completing 9 per month. This is only my second one, and I'm not EVEN going to share the first one I did... ugh. I do believe I will be scrambling once again this year :)
Merry Peacock
Paper: Toodle Loo and White UltraSmooth cardstocks
Ink: Reflection Blue and Iris Palette inks
Other: Lyra Watercolor Crayons, water mister, misc. ribbon, Nestabilities, Pop Dots, and 1" Circle Punch
I achieved the watercolor look to the bird image by coloring directly on the rubber stamp with the Lyras, mist with water, stamp off lightly, and finally stamp final image. I love the soft look, and will definitely be doing more of these!
I created the scallop border by layering circle halves... quick and easy, and you can really get some big scallops working! Also, while the large white circle was still in the Nestabilities die, I sponged Reflection Blue & Iris inks VERY LIGHTLY so that there is a white border left around the edge of the circle.
What do you think?

Very pretty, Barb! Love the touch with the circle punches! Clever idea! And I like how you left the edge white still!
Beautiful Barb! These colors are gorgeous together... I love this peacock too and it's funny because I had planned to use it for one of my Christmas months too! What do they say great minds think alike! LOL!!!

Gorgeous card! You have encouraged me to get my watercolor crayons out- it has been awahile.
Barb, you should get that cough checked out.
I love, love the peacock. I love that you use stamps that I would never use (i.e. I would never know what to do with a peacock stamp) and somehow, make me want to stamp with it!
I like the scalloped edge trick. Great way to use some of those scraps!
When can we expect the next blog update? Here's a cough drop for you....
I really like your coloring effect, it's so vibrant.

This is wonderful! Love the non-traditional colors!
love this! super great ideas!
pretty card - love the purple and blue for a christmas card!
gorgeous card Barb. I'm a non-traditional color gal myself. My christmas tree is decorated in a baroque renaissance mixture of copper, chartreuse, purple, and red. your peacock would fit in brilliantly!
