So, I had this card base that has been staring at me since I had done THIS birdcage card. Yeah, I know... it's been a while. And since I needed to clear off more of my table top so I can work on my seminar trades (come on, June 26th!!), I went with this.

Let me start by saying that I REALLY like how this card turned out. Does this look a little Vintage-Mod to you? I don't know if it is the colors or what, but that's what I'm feelin'. What's funny is that I started out wanting to create a monochromatic card...

Stamps: Butterfly Bits, Fantasy Flourishes (retiring!!)

Paper: Hemingway & Ivory UltraSmooth cardstocks

Other: Transcendence EP, foam tape, Fiskars border punch, manicurist nail pads

I heat-embossed the clear EP patterned wings over the ivory cs before stamping the solid Ballet Blue wings. Just make sure to wipe the excess off pretty quickly or the ink will color the EP! I edged everything with the Burnt Umber, which is my go-to brown ink for everything!

I bent the wings slightly so that they lift off the base, and clustered the flowers about the knotted ribbon. I tried a bow first, but it was too much competition for the butterfly, so I went with the knot.

What do you think?

I like how it's a simple card base design but you jazzed it up with the butterfly and flowers. It does have a vintage feel to it.
