I had stamped one of these watercolor peacocks when I did my last peacock card. I had put him in my scrap pile and he really looked like he wanted some luvin' :)
For the how-to technique, just check my other post... it is so easy, and it really looks like a watercolor painting. I reverse-masked and sponged the sun. Next time I think I will clear emboss over the bird before-hand so it doesn't look so green.
I cut the Hip Hop paper following the waves to mix it up a bit from all of the straight cuts. I had a few scraps that I used instead of ribbon... I think this makes it a bit more masculine, but maybe not :)
Because I used non-traditional Christmas colors, the snowflakes were stamped with VersaMark on the base to give it a more wintery feel.
Stamps: Bird Cage, Simply Christmas (retiring!!), Holiday Cheer (sentiment)
Paper: Hip Hop FWIC, Lilly Anna, Toodle Loo & White UltraSmooth cardstocks
Ink: Raw Sienna & Reflection Blue Palettes
Other: Aquacolor Crayons, foam tape
I think this would make a lovely 'thinking of you' or sympathy card by substituting flowers or flourishes in place of the snowflakes.
What do you think?

gorgeous .. love the colors! Thanks for sharing!
Perfect paper choice for a peacock. Woo hoo! And don't fret about the green on the peacock, it's supposed to have lots of colors. (I see you 'masked')
Lovely-My last name is Peacock so this caught my eye straight away!
Another great card Barb - it's amazing what you do with scraps. rita w
