A frugal find and a beautiful mess...

Tonight's post is kinda funky since I won't be showing you a completed project (just part of it!)... but what is great, is the el cheapo find I procured from my local Michael's store!! Check this out. These are thick felt coasters... very thick & they almost feel starched or something. Anyway, as soon as I saw these in the $1 bins, the wheels were turning!

I knew I could cut them apart to make a cute frame element for a scrap page, and get a ton of little felt flowers to use, too.

For one tiny dollar, I can get 4 decorative frames (or 16 scallop strips), 24 'whole' flowers, and 40 'partial' flowers (less if I wanted to keep some in the corners)! Not bad for a buck...

So here is one of the elements for my current altered project, utilizing one of the flowers... cute, no?! There are all kinds of doo dads on this element, and most of the packaging was tossed a long time ago so I don't know who all of the manufacturers are, but I can try to find out if you're curious.

This is what my studio table looks like right now. Yep, I know... MESSY!! There is pink glitter freakin' everywhere! But I am totally diggin' how my project is evolving... can't wait to show it off :)

What do you think?
